Reclaim, Restore, Reconnect
A North Wales Transit Vision
A speculative transit-led civic vision for Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales. The project reimagines underused railway infrastructure as multimodal hubs connecting rail, bus and cycling networks. At Blaenau, the site integrates transport with community programmes including a crèche, storytelling room, café, cycle workshop, markets and play spaces. Inspired by slate landscapes and local storytelling culture, the design uses timber, brick and slate to create warm civic spaces. It proposes transit infrastructure as an everyday catalyst for connection, care and sustainable regional regeneration.
